The Birthstone By Month Charts

There are many different birthstone charts. The one that most people in the western world currently use is the modern birthstone chart. There is also a traditional chart and a zodiacal chart shown below. There are other charts, some culturally specific and some that are specific to certain belief systems. 
Actually the zodiacal chart would fall into the later category. There is also a mystical chart that would fall into this category.

There are alternate birthstones for a few months in the modern chart. These tend to have a similar appearance. In the traditional chart most months have alternate stones listed and the relationship is not so close. Which stone is listed first may depend on where you were when you ask or the time period when the question was asked.

The zodiacal chart aligns with the signs and dates of the zodiac. An Astrologer would caution you with regard to the stones. They feel that the stones have powers, but that  a full reading is necessary to evaluate the effect that the stone may have to the wearer. The power of the stone may complement or counteract other forces that may be active depending on the personal horoscope.
